Melissa and Herbie’s wedding was an absolute pleasure to be a part of! Melissa, a former Cosmo Girl herself, came to us to design and coordinate the perfect Autumn wedding. The bride and groom are young sweethearts that had grown up knowing each other through their families. After Cupid’s arrow struck, the couple set the date for their Fall wedding. The ceremony and reception were both held at Melissa’s parent’s home in Sunset Hills. The sprawling landscape and beautiful lake provided the backdrop for Stephen Seebeck’s amazing photography.

The color palette created for the event was an array of Autumn colors; copper, cremes, burnt orange, chocolate brown and a touch of golden yellow. The bridesmaids wore chocolate brown J Crew dresses, each in a different style, while the groomsmen sported taupe suits and whimsical chocolate polka-dot ties.
The florist for the event, Botanicals Design Studio, put their touch on every aspect of the event, beginning with the gorgeous bouquets and arbor used for the ceremony. Vignettes of pillar candles, sunflowers, bittersweet, coxcomb, autumn leaves, twigs, pumpkins, gourds, wheat fronds, and hay bales were placed throughout the property. Melissa looked stunning in her Marisa Collection gown from Maiden Voyage, accessorized by ETSY floral headpiece and J-Crew sandals. During and following the ceremony, guests enjoyed the beautiful sounds of Serenade Strings.
Schlafly Pumpkin Ale and Butler’s Pantry’s delectable hor d oeurves were passed as the guests experienced the cocktail hour.
The chocolate brown Escort Cards where carefully displayed on hay bails, attached with copper wire and miniature clothes pins. Upon entering the tent for dinner the guests were wowed by all of the intricate details. Lighting elements included pin spotting and falling leaf motifs projected upon the tent ceiling. The tablescape consisted of Peanutbutter Crinkle table linens, Copper Taffeta napkins, copper charger plates, specialty dinnerware and copper handle twist flatware. The table numbers were incorporated into pumpkin stems and were part of the centerpieces.
The artful cake was created by Sarah’s Cafe and Bakery, adorned with miniature pumpkins and sunflowers. The newlyweds dined at their sweetheart table, enjoying the three course dinner prepared by Butler’s Pantry. The first course, Maple Acorn Squash Bisque, was served in actual acorn squash bowls!
The tent was provided by Event Partners, and elegant lighting was provided by The Aries Company. The “Guest Book” was comprised of small squares of fabric to later be assembled into a Quilt as a keepsake for the bride and groom. After dinner, the guests were invited to the Smore’s Station and fire pits. The Ralph Butler Band entertained the crowd and guests danced the night away. Personalized Tins of Fresh Coffee, grown and roasted by the Groom’s family in El Salvador, were given as the favor.
