Six inches of snow and freezing temperatures couldn’t stop Kathleen Jones and Chris Marischen from saying their vows and celebrating a new journey together with their friends and family.
Kathleen and Chris’ story began at Mizzou, where they met during Greek Week. Chris was the skit director, Kathleen tried out and the rest is history! The two were together for just over five years before they decided to tie the knot on December 14, 2013.
The black and white stripe theme accented with gold and mint was introduced in the custom invitation design. The traditional letterpress printing mixed with the whimsical design started the fun and elegant ambiance which was carried through the event.
Kathleen and her seven bridesmaids started the morning at the Sheraton St. Louis City Center where Daniellestyle worked her magic on hair and makeup. Once hair and makeup was finished, Kathleen stepped into her stunning trumpet-style wedding dress with a custom peplum by Olia Zavozina and a beaded, removable top overlay by Kristie Kelly Couture.
A limo bus provided by Best Transportation escorted the ladies to The Shrine of St. Joseph where Kathleen walked down the aisle to Trumpet Voluntary holding her bouquet of roses, stephanotis flowers and lamb’s ear leaves by Botanicals Design Studio.
The breathtaking moments were captured by Stephen Seebeck Photography and Brian Gaadt Productions.
After the beautiful ceremony, the guests arrived at The Franklin Room for cocktail hour and the reception.
Once everyone was seated, the bride and groom were introduced as, “Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Marischen” for the first time and cut their three-tiered, red velvet cake by Sarah’s Cake Shop.
Dinner was served on tables with black linens by Weinhardt Party Rentals and shimmering gold chargers. Custom menus by Paper Tangent gave the tables some flair.
“I Have and Always Will” by Dave Barnes played for the couple’s first dance. Guests were then welcomed to dance all night to music played by Diamond Dave.
Throughout the night, guests enjoyed delicious donuts by Donut Man Stan and were shown a same-day edit of the ceremony and reception by Brian Gaadt Productions. The video can be viewed here.
Knowing Kathleen & Chris – they truly are a perfect fit and have many years of laughter ahead of them, AND she is one of our own – Kathleen is a full time Cosmopolitan Events Planner, which made it an honor to share this day with the Jones and Marischen families. It means a lot to have Kathleen release the planner role for the rest of us to take over!
